Diamond Fabrics Limited | 4.26 MW Grid Tied Solar Power Plant
The textile sector has an impact on climate change. Primarily due to the emission associated with production, transportation and disposal. Textile industry is also a highly intensive industry that requires large amount of electricity.
By considering this whole situation, Diamond Fabrics Limited, a textile manufacturing company is joining the green energy revolution for a healthy planet. DSG energy was approached by Diamond Fabrics Limited to explore the possibility of installing the solar power plant at their facility. Diamond Fabrics Limited was looking for a sustainable solution to reduce their energy cost and their carbon footprints.
For this purpose, Diamond Fabrics Limited Joined forces with DSG Energy because we are a reliable and experienced renewable energy provider that can provide a customized solar solution that meets the specific needs of Diamond Fabrics Limited. We have a proven track record of delivering high quality solar projects that generate significant cost saving and reduce the carbon footprints of our clients.
After conducting a detailed site assessment and analysis of Diamond Fabrics Limited, DSG Energy installed a grid-tied solar power plant of 4.26 MW. The solar power plant was installed on different types of roofs, including inverted beams and flat roofs, with 50% of the system installed on each type of roof.
The site designing was challenging due to the height difference of the inverted beams, which required different types of structure configurations to achieve maximum capacity. P1, P2, P3 (Hot Dipped Galvanized Iron Structure), and L2 (Aluminum Structure) structure configurations were used, with P1 being a DSG special structure with side anchoring.
The client had a specific requirement to create a centralized inverter room containing 37 inverters, which caused long routes of DC cables. To avoid DC cable losses, DSG Energy used XLPO cables. However, the centralized inverter room caused an increase in temperature, so DSG Energy implemented a heat evacuation system to achieve optimal inverter temperature.
A weather station was also applied to the site, and SCADA (SCADA system for solar power plant) was used to manage multiple power sources, including 11 gas generators, 3 diesel generators, and 1 grid. DSG Energy also designed and installed a water pipeline for cleaning purposes, and a tower structure was installed for office use. One of the major challenges of the project was the LT patching project. Despite all these challenges, DSG Energy was able to successfully install a 4.26 MW grid-tied solar power plant within 3 months, overcoming various challenges and implementing innovative solutions to ensure optimal performance and efficiency of the system.
The installation of solar power plant at Diamond Fabrics Limited is a resounding success for DSG Energy. This project demonstrates the potential of renewable energy solutions for the textile industry and is an example of other companies to follow.
