DSG Energy Annual Solar Conference 2022 | Bridging the Energy Gap Event Report
Annual Renewable Energy Conference 2022, under the title of “Bridging the Energy Gap” was organized by DS Group of Companies and held at Pearl Continental Hotel, on July 30th, 2022. Just like the name suggests, the idea and purpose behind the conference was to gather all the Energy Enthusiasts and Stakeholders at a single platform to serve as think tank to fight the global warming and the current ongoing energy crises, together. DSG Energy team hosted around top 50 Industries from all over Pakistan at the conference in a pledge to resolve Pakistan’s Industrial Crises through Solar Energy. Additionally, new contract signings and celebration of recent 100MW installation achievement was another highlight of the day.
DSG Energy Annual Energy Conference was strategically planned, keeping in mind all the mandatory aspects that would revolve around energy affiliated issues and could be discussed to figure out the possible and optimum solution to the existing energy problems. The event started with the recitation of Holy Quran, followed by well enlightening presentations covering all the basics one need to know about the solar power systems, from domestic to industrial use, by DSG Energy team. Our Project Engineer “Amjad Ali Azam” explained the benefits of solar energy for the environment, that without any doubt is the most crucial ongoing global issue.
Following the environmental benefits, how grid-tied solar systems work and comfort our lives, technically and economically was presented and well- explained by one of Technical Sales Engineers, Talha Jameel. While signifying the technical and environmental benefits of solar energy, the economic benefits contain the equal significance. Net-metering, how it works and how does it ease our electricity bills was demonstrated by Amir Amin, our Net-Metering officer. Last but not the least, Muzammil Hussain, our Sales Engineer explained and displayed the perks and privileges we can get by going through a green transition, domestically.
The event was followed by a welcoming address by DSG Energy’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Zain-ul-Abideen, where he welcomed all the honorable guests, broke the ice and shed a light over the whole conference agenda. Subsequently, the magic that happens after the energy project is done, could not be avoided. Mr. Talha Kashif, Asst. Manager Projects | DSG Energy, explained how the team keeps such a firm check and balance over every single projects technologically, for customer satisfaction. Following that, Mr. Ijaz Nisar, President of CEO Club, joined the team and Enlighted the house with his motivational words and wisdom.
The basic theme and purpose of the conference, “Bridging the energy gap” was brought to light, afterwards. Mr. Daniyal Siddiqui | CEO of DSG Energy hosted a highly productive Panel Discussion, under the umbrella of “Role of Solar Energy in Energy Mix of Industries for Bridging Energy Gap”, with Top Industrialist who are a part of Green Industry Transition. The discussion was held between Mr. Mubarak Athar | Director Safia Rice Mills, Mr. Muhammad Zubair, GM Power House | Sapphire Textile Mills, Mr. Aftab Ahmad | CEO Century Paper and Board Mills, Athar Hayat | CEO Bahum Associates Ltd. And none other than CEO of DSG Energy. The issues were highlighted, the optimum solutions were put on the table, with a pledge to move further towards a better and greener Pakistan. A healthy networking session was followed by the panel discussion. Greetings, cherished laughter and tea, what a deadly combo!
Later on, another important topic was come to light, “State Bank Financing Scheme for Renewable Energy – Rising Energy Prices” by DSG Energy’s Chief Financial Officer | Aamir Eyyaz. All the financial aspects, benefits and challenges were highlighted with the aim of making it easier for industrialist to go green. Also, a detailed overview of How the Solar Energy started and reached to the point where it is today by none other than Mr. Faiz Bhutta | Solar & Renewable Energy Expert and Consultant, gave his useful insights on Solar Energy and its technicalities.
How to shape the future of Renewable Energy in Pakistan? Something needed to be talked about more in order to normalize and aware. The panel discuss was hosted by Nazifa Fatima | Chief Marketing Officer DSG Energy, some healthy green opinions were shared by Mr. Shehriyar Bhatti, Head of Engineering | Sapphire Diamond fabrics Ltd., Mr.Saeed Aslam GM | Iqbal Rice Mills, Mr. Daud Ilahi Director | Ilaahi Rice Mills, Mr. Asad Kamaal Head Of Sales | DSG Energy and Ms. Hifza Pervaiz | AM BD DSG Energy.
Last but not the least, the honorable chief guest Mr. Makhdoom Zain Hussain Qureshi arrived and the event
proceeded with his final remarks on the ongoing global climate change threat and the present and future of renewables in Pakistan, followed by the acknowledgement and team and the award ceremony for wonderfully arranging and carrying out the event, by the chief guest, himself.
The event was wrapped up by our hosts, Ms. Aman Fayyaz Khan and Mr. Islam Ali with much enthusiasm and a plan to come up with more platforms, with the aim of moving towards a greener future.
