DS Group of Companies proudly presents the outcome and results of the Annual Energy Conference 2023 held in PC Hotel Lahore on August 5, 2023, with the collaboration of REAP – (Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan), Huawei Fusion Solar, and Bahum Associates Ltd. This event attracted over 150 participants from the Rice Industry and the goal was to bring together energy enthusiasts and stakeholders to address global warming and ongoing energy issues. It was the first-ever energy event that covered the rice sector of Pakistan. The
DSG Energy team invited the top 50 rice industries from all over Pakistan to explore solar energy solutions, especially in the Rice Sector of Pakistan, and alleviate the country’s industrial crises.
This report is based on a conference organized by DSG Energy (a part of DS Group of Companies) and co-sponsored by Huawei Fusion Solar and Bahum Associates Ltd with the collaboration of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan – REAP. The theme and title of the conference was “Solarizing the Rice Sector of Pakistan”.
We would like to especially thank the invited speakers who came to the Annual Rice Energy Conference from different cities of Pakistan, as well as nearly 150 people who participated. Over 30+ rice mill owners attended the Energy Conference and shared their energy experiences with DSG.
The event commenced with a serene recitation of the Holy Quran, setting a contemplative tone for the proceedings. The DSG Energy Annual Energy Conference was meticulously organized, with a strong focus on addressing energy-related issues and seeking optimal solutions. The DSG Energy team delivered enlightening presentations that comprehensively covered various aspects of solar power systems, ranging from domestic to industrial applications. On another part, the attendees visited the Huawei inverters display and discussed the technology advancements in C&I solar inverters with DSG Energy and Huawei’s team experts.
Mr. Zain ul Abideen, COO of DSG Energy, formally began the conference with a keynote speech providing an overview of the projected growth of industrial solar in Pakistan.
At the conference, Ms. Nazifa Fatima, the CMO of DSG Energy, provided an overview of the 250 industries that have been solarized by DSG Energy across Pakistan.
At the event, we were fortunate to have our esteemed Project Engineer | Amjad Ali Azam, deliver informative presentations about the working strategy and the importance of operations and maintenance for solar power plants. He focused on our existing clients. Additionally, our Technical Sales Engineer, Ms. Muskan, gave a detailed overview of DSG Energy. It was a highlight of the event.
Mr. Faisal Daawar Khan | Asst Manager C&I, and Mr. Zohaib | Technical Manager provided valuable insights on the advancement of PV technology, its benefits, and the advantages that individuals and industries can enjoy by transitioning to green energy. During this session, we learned about the specific and convincing benefits of using solar energy, including its positive effects on both the environment and our personal finances
During his speech, NOC Head | Mr. Talha Kashif discussed the Network Operation Centre (NOC) and how it was established through a collaboration with Huawei FusionSolar. The NOC center provides 24/7 online monitoring services to our esteemed customers for their solar power plants. DSG Network Operation Center is the first of its kind in Pakistan and has received recognition across the region.
Our team of experts hosted an informative presentation on solar energy and its environmental and personal benefits. Talha Jameel, | Technical Sales Engineer, shared insights on the challenges and advantages of installing solar power plants in different rice mills throughout Pakistan. He also provided a technical explanation of the plant’s operations and how it can enhance the productivity of operational plants.
PROFESSIONAL TALKS:
During the conference, Mr. Robin Xing, the Managing Director of Huawei Digital Power, shared his expertise in solar technology and discussed how the company’s innovations have helped advance solar energy solutions in Pakistan. His attendance emphasized the significance of collaboration between DSG Energy and rice industries to promote sustainable energy development.
During the presentation, the CEO of Bahum Associates Ltd, Mr. Ather Hayat, shared valuable insights on renewable energy solutions in collaboration with Huawei FusionSolar. He discussed the potential for solar energy to revolutionize energy access and distribution in various rice mills across Pakistan.
Mr. Sarmad Wahab Ch, Business Development Manager at Huawei FusionSolar, shared his perspective on the business aspects of solar energy and how it can be further integrated into existing infrastructures to promote clean energy adoption.
Mr. Thomas Li Tou | CTO Huawei FusionSolar, delivered an enlightening keynote speech on Smart Solar PV Solutions, highlighting the transformative potential of integrating digital technologies and devices in solar photovoltaic systems. He highlighted the challenges faced by traditional solar PV and explained how smart technologies can improve energy generation, efficiency, and cost savings. Mr. Li Tou shared Huawei’s real success stories and case studies to showcase the transformative impact of smart solar PV projects. Mr. Li Tou expressed an optimistic outlook for the future of smart solar PV and its potential to advance the global energy transition.

During the conference, the Rice Mill Owners including Mr. Muhammad Tanveer | Al Qadir Rice Mill, Mr. Inaam Eahi | Elahi Rice Traders, Mr. Khalid Munir | Naz Rice mill, Mr. Saadat Cheema | Sardar Rice Mill, Mr. Ahmed Mubarak | Safia Rice, Mr. Nauman | Iqbal Rice Mill and other industry leaders shared their experiences, success stories in solar energy innovation, which added great value to the discussions. Their contributions were highly appreciated by all attendees as they demonstrated how innovation policies and collaborations can lead to a sustainable and greener future.

At a panel discussion hosted by Mr. Asad Kamal, Head of Sales DSG Energy, the topic of solar energy in Pakistani rice mills was discussed. The process has both advantages and challenges, and the panelists shared their valuable opinions on the matter. The attendees heard from industry experts, including Mr. Sami Ullah, CEO | of Atlas Foods and Green Foods, Ch. Wahab CEO | of Wahab Rice Mill, Saadat Cheema CEO | of Sardar Rice Mill, Muhammad Tanvir | of Al Qadir Rice Mill, and Mr. Islam, Manager of Technical Projects at DSG Energy, shared their experiences with green and clean energy.

Daniyal Siddiqui – CEO of DSG Energy
The CEO of DSG Energy, Mr. Daniyal Siddiqui, hosted a productive panel discussion titled ” Latest Solar Energy Technologies for Reducing the Energy Cost for Rice Sector.” The discussion included top rice mill owners who are part of the green industry transition.
The discussion was held between Faiz Bhutta | Solar Energy Consultant, Ahmed Mubarik | Director Safia Rice Mills, Ch. Shafique | Hassan Corporation, Inam Elahi | Elahi Rice Mills, Shehan Talagala | Jinko Solar Sales Director, Robin Xing | MD Huawei along with CEO DSG Energy.
During the discussion, the panel guests addressed the issues and proposed the best solutions for the promotion of solar energy. They also shared the challenges and benefits of using solar energy and pledged to work towards a better and greener Pakistan.
Furthermore, Ms. Aman Fayyaz Khan and Mr. Ahsan Sajjad Khan impeccably hosted the event, infusing it with enthusiasm that left attendees inspired and motivated. Their dynamic energy and passion for environmental sustainability set the tone for the entire gathering, creating an electrifying atmosphere throughout.
